What have you ever missed most about journey?

Experiencing dance cultures all over the world. However I am hopeful Atamira is perhaps touring abroad once more from 2023. Watch this area.

What are your strongest reminiscences from the primary abroad journey you ever took?

Feeding kangaroos with my household in Beerwah, Queensland after I was about 8 years previous.

What was a regular household vacation like when rising up?

My whānau would journey to completely different locations in Te Wai Pounamu, whether or not that be to my grandparents’ home within the little nation city of Southbridge (by Ngāti Moki Marae) or over to the West Coast.

Who has most impressed your travels?

My pretty pal, mentor and Atamira inventive director Jack Grey. He spent plenty of time on Turtle Island (North America) connecting with the indigenous peoples of these lands and discovering new parts of tradition and efficiency to reinforce his observe as a dance artist. That is one thing I’m trying ahead to doing sooner or later.

What’s the best journey you’ve got ever been on?

Dancing in an arts competition in Macau with many different cultures from all over the world.

And the worst?

Getting the flu in Rome, throughout a tremendous faculty journey for Classics research.

What’s your strategy to packing for an enormous journey?

As a dance instructor and performer, I am a planner. So a lot of lists and packing cubes.

What’s the vacation spot that the majority shocked you – good or unhealthy?

Macau was like a mini Las Vegas. So many lights and various things occurring multi function place.

The place was your most memorable dawn/sundown?

On the Greek island of Hydra.

What’s the very first thing you do once you get residence from an extended journey?

After unpacking, I like to unwind with some stretching or noho puku (relaxation).

What do you miss most about residence once you journey?

The facility of standing on the whenua of Aotearoa and the connection to my Māoritanga and my tūpuna. I take my taonga wherever I am going.

The place is the one vacation spot you need to see in your lifetime?

Lenapehoking – New York, New York in fact!

What’s your favorite factor about journey?

Admiring structure and making an attempt completely different kai in every place. It is all in regards to the expertise as an entire for me. Much like making dance – it is in regards to the course of.
